The evening was perfect. A few clouds floated across the blue sky, the sun playing hide-and-seek through the puffs. There was little breeze, and the temperature was just perfect for Rowan + Coltan’s playful sunset engagement session at Lake Newell near Brooks, Alberta.

For days leading up to Bree + Cody’s epic engagement session, we worried that we’d have to cancel as the weather began to look quite disagreeable. But after going back and forth with each other per day, flip-flopping between going and not, we decided to risk it.

If you had told me when I posted my giveaway that I would have a couple from the Lower Mainland enter, a couple who shares very similar values to me and my business, I would’ve called you crazy.

Blue skies, wispy clouds, WARM sunshine, and no other soul in sight. It was everything they wanted for their session, not to mention the variety of photos we were able to achieve in this place.

It all started when Gavin reached out pre-COVID, telling me that he planned to bring his beloved San to Banff National Park in April 2020 with plans to propose during their trip. I hadn’t yet shot a proposal at Lake Louise myself (I had been a third-shooter of sorts for one, but the majority of proposals I had shot in Banff were mostly at Moraine Lake) so I was really excited that he chose me!!

Steph and Devan's couple's portraits took place at Lake Minnewanka in Banff National Park, Alberta, and we were blessed with an amazing day. A mixture of snow, clouds, and sunshine greeted us as we ventured along the trails surrounding the lake.
